At the center of this glamorous collaboration is Jade Crosland, the Founder and Director of Privé, a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of experience in the hair and beauty industry. So Jade, with nearly two decades in the hair and beauty world, could you share how you initially got started and what drew you to this industry?

My journey began 18 years ago in the UK, where I started my career in hairdressing in some of London’s top salons. At the age of 21, I made the move to Australia, working my way up the industry ladder, eventually leading to the founding of Privé. What drew me in was the privilege of empowering people to look and feel their best. Witnessing the joy on their faces is what ignited my love for this industry and has become a core part of Privé’s brand ethos—empowering clients to exude confidence in their most authentic selves. 

We’re getting so excited for the start of a busy event season! What is the one product you can’t work without when putting together a party look?

Sounds like a must-have indeed. Now, with your finger on the pulse of the beauty industry, what emerging trends do you foresee for Spring Racing?

We’re seeing a shift from soft, dewy, and natural makeup to more striking looks. Red lips, and lipstick in general, are making a strong comeback. On the hair front, the classics are reclaiming the spotlight. Women are opting for more chic finishes compared to the looser, lived-in looks of previous years. 

Exciting trends ahead! Now, let’s talk beauty essentials. What are your top three must-have beauty items?

First on the list would be lip balm. It’s not only great for your lips but also adds a beautiful shine. For a daytime glam look, I recommend pairing it with a lip liner, smudging it in for a softer tone and accentuated lip shape. Second, a good powder is essential to eliminate any shine that might appear throughout the day, keeping you looking fresh. Lastly, a pencil liner is a game-changer. Applied just behind the lashes and subtly rubbed in with the pinky finger, it creates a dusty look that amplifies your finish without requiring any special skills.
