Culture, culture everywhere, but not a drop to spare. Funnily enough, that is not the tagline that the National Gallery of Victoria went for when brainstorming the 2016/2017 happenings.
What they did do though was get a line-up together, throw in some top quality exhibitions and open the doors later on Friday night. The NGV Friday Nights is back to make your end of week drinks just that little more cultured.
The team have come up with a whole host of outstanding musical offerings. Take this little teaser for example; Tangents, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, Gold Class, I Heart Hiroshima, The Comet is Coming, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Olympia, No Zu, El Guincho, PVT and Amanda Palmer. This thing is stacked with acts that you need to get around.
To pop a sweet cherry on top of the entire sweet live music situation, wouldn’t it be made better if you could check out the awesome exhibitions that are taking up residence? You’re absolutely right, it would be and that’s exactly what’s happening.
At the moment, there are two must-see exhibitions that are included with a NGV Friday Night ticket. With the Viktor&Rolf: Fashion Artists exhibition, showing off the finest designs that the duo has to offer. The over the other side you have the ever cheeky David Hockney: Current, showing off his current body of work.
So if you’re looking for a little something different from the usual Friday afternoon drinks, keep the National Gallery of Victoria in mind. It’s a fine place to sharpen up your cultural knowledge and see some top bands.
For a full list of the line-up, more info and to grab tickets, head over to the NGV website HERE.
NGV Friday Nights is on now until March 10.
