Melbourne Zoo Twilights Lineup 2018

Oct 17, 2017  ·  2 min read

Music against wildlife extinction. Tunes and great cause. Live bands amongst carnivorous animals. Melbourne Zoo Twilights has just dropped their 2018 line-up and it absolutely roars.

Have you ticked “zoo gig” off the bucket-list? It’s up there with riding an ostrich and winning a meat tray in the list of things that must be accomplished in one’s life. And this is your chance to do it.

Melbourne Zoo Twilights returns this summer and again all the profits go towards saving the Eastern Barred Bandicoot from extinction. The poor little buggers are already classified as extinct in the wild, but Melbs Zoo is “on a mission from God” (Blues Brothers, anyone?) to get them off that terrible list. This is ethical rock, ladies and gentleman.

The roster includes anti-cigarette man, Ben Folds; the Motown-inspired, Teskey Brothers; soft-spotters, The Cat Empire, The Preatures, Cut Copy and Liam and Neil Finn; and Brooklyn four-piece Grizzly Bear.

Recommendation – Hiatus Kaiyote

Check out the Neo-soul, jazz funk four-piece outfit, Hiatus Kaiyote. Who wouldn’t like to be listening to these slinky Melburnites while sipping a cold one, surrounded by animals, on a balmy summer’s eve.
