Melbourne Live

Soon Santa will be here and the year will be over. It’s frightening and harsh reality if you find yourself underprepared for the festive season. The stresses of family functions, meal planning and travels can take the toll on the mind this time of year. Especially if you’re in for one of those big family focused Christmases. You know the ones where your niece is now 12 and wants an iPad, your recently divorced Aunty will be bringing her new flame and to top it off, your parents are still big fans of your ex from three years ago and have thrown her/him an invite.

It’s that kind of Christmas where you need a lot of prep time. You need to yourself. From here it’s only going to get hectic. Then there’s Boxing Day. A whole other story.

The bright side to all this is that you have time on your side, always a good thing. The first three weeks of December should be all about you and a handful of close friends. Luckily, this is Melbourne, a city that just ranked as the most inspiring city, according to TimeOut. This was due to always having some new and interesting to hook into. You have so much to see and do before the impending festive season starts, here’s just a sampler of the live goods going on this month:

Moonlight Cinemas
The team behind the perfect tinder date night have just dropped the 2016/17 movie line up and it is HOT. With advance screenings of Moana, Red Dog and the Gosling/Stone musical (soon to be epic) La La Land, you’ll be grabbing a bean bag and chilling in the bliss that is Hollywood.
Check out the full program and grab tickets HERE

Hannibal Buress
YAS! For one night only, Hannibal Buress will be in town to take over the Arts Centre to give you a hilarious case of the giggles. You’ll know Hannibal from Broad City, but you’ll love him for his brilliant stand-up. Tickets will likely sell out and in turn, you’ll miss out.

Flume
Your boy Harley Streten aka Flume has had a huge year. From killing the top spot on the Laneway tour to getting to surf Kelly Slater’s wave pool with 6 x world champ Steph Gilmore. Coming back home for a national tour, Flume will be ripping the lid off his new album at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on December 15 & 16. The good tickets have sold out, as they would, though there are a handful of garden tickets for sale.

Amy Schumer Live
All-around funny lady, Ms Schumer will be playing to a packed Rod Laver Arena on December 12. From Comedy Central to a list of hilarious movies, Amy’s been having a whole lot of fun lately. Tickets are still available HERE

This is just a handful of events that are coming up that will help you situate yourself for the silly season. All the best with that.
