Inside Out at Melbourne Museum

The description of Inside Out, Melbourne Museum’s upcoming exhibition, reads like a QT suite – immersive, playful and reimagined.

This one-of-a-kind audiovisual adventure invites guests to step out of the now and into a world where showbirds dance, miniature civilisations rise and fall, and heartbeats last hundreds of millions of years.

Trippy to say the least.

Bring a friend and meander through abstracted everyday environments, unexpected stories and moments frozen in time. Visitors will be placed in unusual settings where they will become players in theatrical sets and taken on a multi-sensory journey including performance, vignettes and soundscapes.

Prepare to be awed or just a tiny bit creeped out (but in a good way). Explore, experience and enjoy!

As part of a ground breaking new program starting this summer, Inside Out will turn the traditional museum experience on its head and signals a new era for Museums Victoria. And, if you’re yet to grace the museum with your presence on a Friday night, you’ll be pleased to hear their adult-only Nocturnal series resumes on the first Friday of every month between 6 – 11pm. Expect a rotating list of bands, live DJ’s, roving entertainment and open bars.
