Hey Sara Johnson (Julia Stiles).
Remember how in 2001 you wanted so much to get into Juilliard School but you failed the audition and you ended up living with your Dad in Chicago? You had giant dreams of becoming a black swan on stage, yet you just didn’t make the cut.
It was harrowing.
But fear not my little duckling, for if you dream of making it inside the Australian Ballet studios to prance around the same studio as principal dancers, your dream just became very, very real.
The good people at the Australian Ballet have opened their studios to the public to enjoy a range of active pursuits.
From Pilates to Yoga, Ballet to Broadway, this is your way in.
You can live out all your wildest dreams in the same studios where all the magic produced by the Australian Ballet has come over years comes from.
You’ll be getting downward dog in the same space as some of the best ballerinas this country knows about.
What’s even cooler is if you want to give a double pirouette a shot, you can also sign up for beginner classes. Here you’ll be taught by either current members or former dancers as they take you step by step through your routine.
The best part, the lessons are all accompanied by live pianists, giving you a dose of realism as you glide through the air.
Don’t fret on your outfit either, they’re really welcoming of a casual vibe. So pop on that grey hoodie and sweat it out on the floor.
Though if you are looking for a bit of top quality apparel, earlier this year, the Australian Ballet launched their first (of what we hope is many) clothing lines. The shirts are brilliant for those sweaty workouts or those long Sunday lunches. Check it out HERE
If you would like more details on the studio sessions, then dance over HERE.
