Wes Carr’s “Here Comes the Sun: A Journey Through the Songs of George Harrison”

Wes Carr – the man with the beard and glorious mane of hair – is back on the road with his latest show, “Here Comes the Sun: A Journey Through The Songs of George Harrison”, which he will be performing at the Arts Centre Gold Coast on Friday, May 15.

Since Wes Carr made his way onto our televisions and into our hearts and iTunes, he has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most earnest and dedicated musicians. Despite three studio albums already under his belt, Carr’s greatest strength lies in his live performances – sincere, raw and with a genuine connection to his audience that can’t be learnt.

Carr’s latest venture, ‘Here Comes The Sun’ sees him interpreting the music of The Beatles’ member and founder of the The Travelling Wilburys  George Harrison. Wes will be performing fan classics such as ‘My Sweet Lord’ and ‘What is Life’, and The Beatles classic ’Something’, a song which Frank Sinatra deemed ‘the greatest love song ever written’.

‘Here Comes The Sun’ is also more than just Wes on George – it’s also about Wes sharing intimate tales and anecdotes from George Harrison himself, not only showcasing the depth of George’s music but looking ‘within and without’ on a spiritual journey, recounting conversations George started many years ago.  Storytelling is what Wes does best, and this is a truly unique story, celebrating the essence of an incredible artist from a musician’s perspective.

Wes Carr’s “Here Comes the Sun: A Journey Through the Songs of George Harrison” will show at the Arts Centre Gold Coast on Friday, May 15.
