From rooftop ‘I do’s’ kissed by golden hour to starlit soirées that sparkle well past midnight, every qtQT love story writes its own intimate chapter. Recently, we had the absolute delight of reliving one such tale with our gorgeous couple, Niki and Owen—whose romance had us swooning all over again.
How did your wedding morning begin? Walk us through the getting-ready moments.
We had our nearest and dearest staying in the cabins with us, which made everything feel extra special right from the start. The boys were sent offsite to get ready, while the girls stayed behind for a relaxed morning in the cabins and gardens filled with delicious pastry platters, fresh fruit, and of course- mimosas! I wanted a calm, no-fuss vibe while getting ready, and that’s exactly what we had. Hair and makeup was such a lovely process, shared with the women I love most. No stress, just smiles, laughs, and a few bubbles

qtQT Landing on Level 2.What inspired the overall style or theme of your wedding?
We wanted a simple seaside, boutique-luxury vibe, and QT Gold Coast delivered. From their signature scent wafting through the air to the perfectly manicured tropical gardens on Level 2, every detail felt curated just for us. The service from the QT team was next level. Having our own QT wedding coordinator and a dedciated qtQT concierge (Curator of Sunshine) made us feel completely taken care of. We invited our nearest and dearest to an intimate cocktail event around the firepit, hosted by QT, followed by dinner at Yamagen Japanese for the welcome the night before. It was chic, modern, fun, and exactly what we wanted. Relaxed luxury with a touch of flair.
Tell us about your outfit! Who designed your dress/suit and how did you know it was the one?
For the ceremony, I wore a simple yet elegant gown from Chancery. Then for the reception, I changed into a sparkly floor length by Studio Minc because I wanted the be able to move and spin easily for the First Dance and celebrate with friends. Owen looked sharp as ever in M.J. Bale – classic dark navy and clean cut.

Photo taken from our qtQT CabinsHow did you know that QT Gold Coast, specifically qtQT, was the perfect place to say ‘I do’?
The Malibu Room was actually the very first space I suggested to Owen. I made a booking for a viewing and we knew right away – it was the one. We always wanted something intimate and unique, and this ticked every box. Being able to have both our ceremony and dinner in such a beautiful, private setting with just our closest friends and family was exactly what we wanted. We didn’t want the fuss of transporting guests here and there and ample elegant wet weather options.
What moment of your special day was most memorable for you both?
The “First Look” hands down. We met in the lush gardens outside the cabins before the ceremony. We raced around in between tiny showers of rain, giggling together. No nerves, just the two of us soaking it all in. Plus Matty, our fun and talented photographer, capturing every moment. It gave us time to laugh, breathe, and just be together before the rest of the whirlwind began. Then we snuck back into the cabins and hid out as guests started arriving.

Okay, this was a highlight! We were watching The Perfect Couple (Nicole Kidman’s series) and fell in love with a group wedding dance the cast did. We thought – why not do something a bit different and bring everyone together that way, instead of the traditional group photo? Since many of our guests worked in events or entertainment, we knew they’d be up for the challenge. We sent out our own TikTok style tutorial weeks before the big day which Owen and I recorded, and it was such a hit – our guests were organising little rehearsal catch-ups, and it added a bit of excitement in the lead up to the big day. When it finally arrived, it was so much fun – on the rooftop, with drones and cameras flying around everywhere, everyone joined in, even the neighbouring buildings and QT hotel guests on their balconies cheered and it felt like one big celebration of love and fun
