In addition to these drool-worthy works, we are also obsessing over 19 Karen’s upcoming solo show ‘Time Traveller’ with Go Suga from May 6 – June 18 at the 19 Karen gallery space in Mermaid Beach.
Picture this… Lord Hades and his soldiers have risen from the underground world. They have used their weapons to cover the planet earth with eternal darkness. Now the time traveller is sent back in time to examine what caused such destruction and if possible prevent it from happening and save the world!
Go Suga’s vibrant and detailed paintings depict the world through the eye of the time traveller. And, like a comic strip, each painting is a scene that leads to another.
Born in Hiroshima, Japan Go migrated to Australia and settled on the Gold Coast in Queensland 1990. His talent for drawing has been a lifelong passion with a mystical and seamless blending of cultures.
Go’s work draws upon and reflects his personal views on a wide range of influences including social, political and cultural issues, blended with a rare beauty and mystique. All of his pictures combine the use of colour, shape and movement to create a truly unique and entrancing artwork.
You really need to see these works closely to truly appreciate the detail and accuracy of his illustrations. So be sure to RSVP online to his upcoming exhibition!
