Team Spotlight on Suzy Dodd

Suzy Dodd, QT Gold Coasts’ SpaQ Manager shares a little about herself with us:

I was born to work in the Beauty and Spa industry and at the young age of 15 I began my first job as a receptionist in my local beauty salon. This lead me to gaining a Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Now after 9 years in the industry I still enjoy working in customer service, connecting with my guests and seeing their expectations are exceeded.

With a degree in Business and Events Management I thrive in working front of house and dealing with group bookings. I love to ensure that all things flow smoothly and that each guest receives a unique experience that is as individual as they are. I have to say my treatment speciality is pedicures. (Strange I know, who likes feet?) But this was my very first treatment I performed and it has stuck with me through my career. It’s amazing to have evolved and worked my way up into a beautiful 5 star day spa, working in all aspects of the company.

I love to plan and organise, whether that be work related, day to day life, trips away or even just what I am going to cook for dinner this week. I think my favourite holiday has to be my most resent in Thailand which was filled with a good balance of adventure, cultural experiences, spa treatments, sightseeing and relaxing. Of course it was my favourite, I also got engaged! My favourite thing to do, besides travel is EAT. I love my food and some say I have hollow legs. If you are ever in need of a restaurant recommendation, I’m your girl!

Growing up in Manchester, England (NO I do not support Manchester United) has given me that wacky northern sense of humour, which I brought to Australia with me at the age of 20 along with my family who are my world. I have lived here for four years and cannot shake my Manc accent or that sense of humour so what you see is what you get.

I am a simple soul.
