The sand between your toes, the starry night above and the best short films being played in front of your eyes… it’s SIPFest. Mark it down in your calendar now people. It’s fun. It’s free. And it’s not to be missed this April.

SIPFest, otherwise known as the Shorts in Paradise Festival, is an outdoor pop-up cinema showcasing the best short films from across Australia and is a key event of the Gold Coast Film Festival.

SIPFest transforms the sandy shores of Surfers Paradise beach into a vibrant and unique cinema, delivering a unique outdoor film experience like no other in Australia. With a moonlit setting, the crowd will be captivated by 10-minute cinematic masterpieces by emerging filmmakers from around the country.

Thrillers, dramas, comedy, documentary and more (of a classification M or below) will be judged by a panel of industry experts and awarded $10,000 in prizes. You can also have your say on the night when the audience gets to cast their vote for the people’s choice award.

To make the most of the evening QT Gold Coast has tailored the SIPFest Sleepover package specifically for the night that includes all the movie essentials. Snuggle up on your Sunnylife Picnic Blanket, get stuck into delicious cinema treats as you watch the latest and greatest emerging short films before you walk back to your private QT Mountain View Room.
