Quicksilver & Roxy Pro

Feb 17, 2017  ·  2 min read

Our favourite local break, Snapper Rocks is gearing up to host the world’s best male and female surfers as they battle it out in the 2017 Quiksilver & Roxy Pro from March 14 – 25.

The event sees surfers battle across high-performance waves just metres from the beach and this is your chance to witness the most progressive surfing in the world, on one of the best right-hand point breaks this country has to offer.

With so much local talent on tour, the Quicky/Roxy Pro is the first stop of the year for the World Surf Leauge to check out the in-form surfers.

Was this the best maneuver of last year's #RoxyPro? @johannedefay

Just to whet your hunger for the big names, think Steph Gilmore up against the 2016 world champ Tyler Wright. Or Nikki Van Dijk taking on the best from the Northern Beaches, Laura Evever.

Then over to the boys, you’ve got the likes of John John Florence, Kelly ‘GOAT’ Slater and Bede Durbidge, just to name but a few.

Once the winds mess up the swell, be sure to check out the huge range of land-based entertainment and activities on offer. With a pseudo-festival atmosphere happening on shore, you’ll be rubbing shoulders with the surf world’s best.

A weekend or even weekday stay at QT Gold Coast is the perfect way to take in the vibe… just 30 mins from the action, you can stay in a beach view luxury abode. Feast on a world famous breakfast in the Bazaar Marketplace before heading down for the day soaking up the rays and the electric atmosphere.

The Quicksilver and Roxy Pro tournaments are as much part of the Gold Coast’s social fabric as the beaches themselves.

You didn’t hear it from us but, there are strange rumblings that Mick Fanning might be returning to the tour to surf Snapper and Bells Beach… More about Mick HERE
