Meet Bass Player, Emma Sheppard from Sheppard.

Have you ever thought of being in a band with your siblings? Seems near impossible right? Well not for the band Sheppard.

The indie pop band from Brisbane, spent three weeks at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Charts and were certified 5 times platinum for their second single “Geronimo”.

The creatively blessed family comprises of; lyrical geniuses, euphonious voices, electric energy, and a whole lot of creative quirk! 

QT Gold Coast were lucky enough to host the band during a once-in-a-lifetime gig on the Gold Coast Airport runway, and we caught up with Bass Player, Emma Sheppard to chat about her inspiration and her experience staying with us.

1. Now, the band just did a once in a lifetime gig on the Gold Coast Airport runway. How did that feel and how did this even happen? Please explain.

What a random epic show right?! The idea came from the Hot Tomato Radio team who joked about the idea to start with, but actually brought it into fruition. It was such a surreal and amazing moment we will never forget.

2. QT were lucky enough to have you bless our rooms during your trip to the GC. What did you love most about our new Ocean View Suites?

I loved absolutely everything about this room, I was wowed the moment I walked in. My favourite part of the room though, would have to be the day bed overlooking the ocean. ?

3. What is that one dish you always look forward to ordering from room service?

I love a good Caesar salad, I would never order it out or make it myself as I wouldn’t do it justice. ?

4. If you had the ultimate ‘treat yourself’ night at QT, what would that look like?

Who wouldn’t love a wine, bath and a good movie or Netflix show!

5. Besides being a bass player, we also hear you are an incredibly talented illustrator. How can we get our hands on one of your graphic musings?

Ha ha yes, I love being creative and creating designs to put on phone cases, towels and prints. You can find my design on @justsomescribbless. ❤️ I’m also putting my design skills into a side project with my partner Liam – renovating a vintage caravan @callithecaravan.
