Although Christmas and New Years have come to an end, the silly season is still in full swing here at QTGC. Just like December, the month of January is filled with parties, celebrations and tasty treats and we’re excited to be sharing these with you! So whip out your new iPad or Kikki K diary and save these dates in your January calendar.

Australia Day – Thursday 26th January
Thank-you public holiday Gods, we are excited for this one! Start your morning off with some traditional Aussie sweets (fresh damper and fluffy lamingtons to name a few) in the Fixx Cafe before heading out to the pool for what we’re expecting to be ‘The Ultimate Australia Day Chill Sesh.’ The pool bar will be flowing with ice cold beverages including our ‘Summer Pavlova’ cocktail special – yum! Then gracing your presence from 11 am will be Triple J’s hottest 100 on the Calypso Terrace along with a fully stocked pop-up bar and some funky lawn games to keep you entertained. Head to Bazaar from 5:30 pm for a dining experience like no other; think fresh prawns and oysters, cooked-to-order steaks and mini pavlovas – doesn’t get more Aussie than that.

Kung Fu Stingray Dumpling Party – Saturday 28th January
The Chinese New Year is upon us! Kicking off from 7 pm, the Kung Fu Stingray Dumpling Party will feature our resident DJ, Chinese dragon dancers and a pop-up dumpling station with $3 dumplings, yes you read correctly, $3 dumplings! The special one-off menu is set to impress even the most snobby of dumpling snobs as Chinese chef, Bao Jian, prepares them right in front of your eyes. Something to drink? Stingray’s master mixologists have created an Asian-fusion cocktail titled ‘The Golden Triangle’ for your enjoyment. Meanwhile in Bazaar, the Asian station will be loaded with traditional Chinese dishes for diners to savour on including chef’s special, Peking duck pancakes *drooooool*.

Pin-up Pool Party – Sunday 29th January
To celebrate the Australia Day weekend (and help you recover from the Dumpling Party), QTGC are taking Calypso Sundays back in time to the 50s era and throwing a peachy pin-up pool party! With guest appearances from the Lindy Charm School, you will get to hang out and play with the vintage beauties all afternoon. Kitsch bathers, pin-up curls, inflatable pool toys and good ole’ fashioned fun is what it’s all about. Usual 12 pm start with Calypso cocktails, seafood platters, live music and lawn games, this is a pool party you don’t want to miss!
