Ah, it’s been too long between public holiday long weekends. Thank-you Queen Elizabeth and thank-you Australian government, because even though her majesty’s birthday was 5 months ago, we get the day off work this Monday after a footy final packed weekend, woo hoo!
Here at QT GC, we’ve been thinking about what to get up to this weekend and our brains are just exploding with great ideas (providing the weather stays as phenomenal as it’s been the past few days).
Whip out the BBQ
What better combination is there than watching some footy with a freshly cooked snag or burger in hand? With the AFL Grand Final this Saturday and the NRL Grand Final this Sunday, we’ve been blessed with two perfect occasions to get the BBQ fired up. Pair your meal with a cold beverage and you’re good to go!
Hit the beach
The GC weather has been turning it on in the last few days and unfortunately for most of us, we’ve been stuck in the office instead of lapping it up! I think it’s time us hard working civilians grab a towel and bury ourselves in the perfect white sand our beaches have to offer. A few tips though: Jump on your bike or put your walking shoes on, because parking during school holidays is about as much fun as sunburn. Speaking of, don’t forget to pack sunscreen because we all know what happens to our buns when they haven’t seen the sun in 3 months.
Poolside sipping
If you’re staying with us at the hotel, why not laze around the pool with a book and enjoy some delicious snacks and cocktails? The pool bar opened last weekend, (just in time if you ask me), so pull up a sunbed and get splashing!

Explore
We see our friend’s photos on social media of cool waterfalls and rainforests and wonder when we’ll get the chance to check out these hidden gems. Well now’s a better time than ever! For the fitspo lovers out there, Mt. Warning has your name written all over it. And for the thrill seekers, make a day out of it and head to Springbrook, Kilarney Glen Water Hole or Binna Burra.
Catch up on some Z’s
The excitement of 3 sleep ins in a row is almost too much, but you’ll need it if you’re doing all of the above. Whilst I encourage you to make the most of the beautiful weather, I also encourage you to let your body get some well-deserved rest!
Now hurry up Friday, because we are ready!
