From time to time a piece pops up from an Australian tourism body and it hits the spot as to why Australia is damn great!
We just found one that makes us pretty proud (albeit, a little late on this one).
You can keep your Hemsworth, though that was a pretty sweet clip.
Bingle can take a seat, though that campaign did ask the important questions.
As for the Qantas, I Still Call Australia Home clip, it still gives me tingles, though again, they can take a bow.Throw it over to two local Gold Coast boys hailing from the southern outpost of Currumbin.
You may have heard of Joel Parkinson, he’s a professional surfer who has been winning events from an early age. The guy took out the 2012 ASP world title after winning the Billabong Pipe Masters in Hawaii.
Oh and his mate, Mick Fanning. You may know him as his surfing nick name White Lightning, though he’s ditched the peroxide hair since winning three world titles. Oh and that shark incident in South Africa, yeah he was the one that punched it square in the snout.
These two boys grew up in Currumbin, a place where the river meets the sea and the waves just keep going. It’s out of the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise and offers the traveller to the sandy shores a sweet escape.
Chilled vibes, food that makes your taste buds tickle and a coastline that’ll steal your heart… the beer needs to be mentioned as well. In particular, the beer that the two boys above have produced with some close friends. Balter. The XPA is pretty damn delicious, as is the packaging.
But why take my words for it. The boys have made a sweet little clip highlighting why they love this little slice of the world and it makes you want to move in permanently.
