Glow Festival 2016

GLOW festival is back for the third year running and is set to be a pumping night of colour, light, music and food.

GLOW sets the scene to illuminate your senses with a cluster of light based features and activities for the whole family to enjoy. This year’s major feature is the laser water show on the lake, showcasing music and light displays in true synchronisation… FIRE THE “LASER!”

What makes lasers even cooler? Live music. There’ll be bands like Aquila Young, Jackson James Smith and Crown and Humble rocking out on the music stage through out the night, so put that in your entertainment pipe and smoke it. If you’re not into live music, check out the “how to make a monster workshop”, inside the Gold Coast City Art Gallery, or just send the little monsters of your own in while you do some Glow Tai Chi lakeside.

Bond and Griffith Universities have been burning the midnight oil to produce some of the most unique artworks you’ve ever seen. The featured Illuminated Art Projects return this year with an installation that’s bigger and better than last year – it’s truly amazing what the young mind can create (not that I’m old, but my idea of art goes as far as just looking at it).

With an epic open air cinema on the program this year featuring emerging artists in animation, audio, design, film, games, web and mobile, along with short films from In the Bin and The Gold Coast Film Festival, big screen munchies are obviously a must do. Head to the GLOW street food precinct for hunger and thirst quenching.
