Cooly Rocks 2016

In my dream world, we would all be living on the set of Grease and breaking into unnecessary song and dance at the drop of a hat, so I’m sure you can all understand my absurd excitement about the Cooly Rocks, taking place in June. Picture this, the stunning beach front of Coolangatta lined with over 2km of rock’n roll, rockabilly, swing music and over 1,300 hot rods, custom cars and classic vehicles.

Now this event isn’t just for the car enthusiasts, it brings out some of the Coast’s best 50’s and 60’s styled street food, not to mention the array of colour and incredible outfits from all of those involved. You can spend your day browsing over the 140 retro market stalls and 100 craft market stalls. There will also be over 50 rock’n roll and rockabilly bands from across Australia who will perform alongside special guests and international artist all over the world. This really is an event not to be missed even just for the way that it completely transforms the streets of Coolangatta and draws over 100,000 people every year.
