So, the Commonwealth Games are in full swing! The sun is shining on the beautiful golden beaches of the Gold Coast and the weather has been tops, except for those poor guys at the opening ceremony who got absolutely soaked!

We have already seen so many amazing sporting moments and there’s still so much more to come. Watching Cate Campbell put all her might into bringing it home in the ladies 4 x 100 metre freestyle relay and breaking the world record right here in Southport Optus Arena was a privilege. Also, young GC legends Cam McEvoy and Elijah Winnington have taken home the Gold and Australia is on a high. On Day 6 we are celebrating with 39 Gold, 33 Silver and 34 Bronze with England second on the medal tally, India third and our friends across the water in New Zealand sitting in 4^th place.

There is so much to see and do during The Games … Festival 2018 is off to a massive start with the main stage pumping every night right on Surfers Paradise Beach, Broad Beach is buzzing with arts and culture and Stingray Lounge Bar has the hottest talent from New Zealand playing all weekend with partners ANZ New Zealand House.

Kicking off from 7pm this Friday 13^th, we have the amazing Shanice live and we are definitely ready to get the weekend started the right way! Locals Friday is the theme and we have drink specials from our friends Stone + Wood beers and Brookies Gin fresh from Byron Bay.

Saturday 14^th will see Jade Louise live as the lights go down and the party ramps up, another Kiwi legend sure to bring the hottest crowd. Then we wrap it all up in a massive celebration with the Closing Ceremony Party featuring the Modern Moari Quartet kicking it old school and massive screens playing the closing ceremony live.

With an extended license until 1am for all special event nights, you won’t need a plan B, just a plan with QT.
