Blues on Broadbeach

They say that music sooths the savage beast but don’t expect to be falling asleep when this years’ Blues on Broadbeach takes over the city for four days of music, dancing and heart-racing rhythms starting May 21 until May 24.

Presented by the Broadbeach Alliance, Blues on Broadbeach is a free event that turns the Gold Coast into a four-day concert attracting some of the best blues artists from around the world.

This year, the organisers weren’t kidding around when it came to the entertainment either, with some of the biggest names blues booked to blow your mind including Andrew Strong (who is currently on the road with his “The Commitments Tour”), James Morrison, The Black Sorrows, Hat Fitz and Cara and Ash Grunwald all confirmed.

Some of the venues that will be hosting this year’s fine selection of artists are Alto Cucina Bar; Howl At the Moon; and Grumpy’s Barefoot Bar and Grill. The heart of the event still remains outdoors, taking place at Broadbeach Mall Stage, Victoria Park and Surf Parade so you can also take the kids down to enjoy an afternoon of sweet tunes.

Now considered a major Queensland event, Blues on Broadbeach has been the recipient of numerous awards including “Best Regional Event QLD” and “Best Arts, Cultural or Music Event QLD” at the prestigious 2014 Australian Event Awards, and is also honoured as a Top Ten Finalist in the category of “Australia’s Favourite Event 2014”.

Of course, no-one can party all the time and a good night’s sleep with a hearty breakfast heals the weary feet like nothing else can.
