Voulez-vous voir un film?
The stuff of romantic evenings and perfect first dates (after a delicious dinner in Bazaar, of course) the annual Alliance French Film Festival is underway in nearby Brisbane, showing at the Palace Centro and Palace Barracks until April 1.
Now in its 26th year, the Alliance French Film Festival is a celebration of modern and classic French cinema and is the biggest festival of French film outside of France.
This year, Francophiles and movie buffs have been treated with some an exceptional selection for your viewing pleasure such as the Academy Award nominated Saint Laurent; critically acclaimed Breathe, starring Mélanie Laurent, controversial, best-selling novel by Anne-Sophie Brasme; the fascinating documentary on the art of the French couture, Handmade With Love in France; and Venice and Toronto Film Festival Selection Far From Men starring Viggo Mortensen based on the Albert Camus novel of the same name.
The Alliance French Film Festival is a collaboration between the Embassy of France in Australia and six Alliances Françaises around the country.
The Alliance Française is an independent, not-for-profit language and cultural organisation that has been actively promoting a Franco-Australian exchange for over 130 years.
The Alliance French Film Festival is now showing at the Palace Centro and Palace Barracks in Brisbane until April 1.
