To celebrate the release of their latest album, March Fires, our favourite boys from the mining state Birds of Tokyo are coming to the Cooly this November 30 to rock the pants of your skinny legs.
Since their inception back in 2004-2005ish, Birds of Tokyo have regularly dominated the airwaves with their alt. rock tunes. With a slew of awards under their belt including a bunch of WAMis, APRAs and even some ARIAS and a place on Triple J’s Top 100, their latest album is bound to add a few more notches in the proverbial musical bedpost. Considered a move away from their traditional rock roots with a more upbeat and positive theme behind the lyrics (whatever that means) there is an undeniable sense of raw emotion fuelling the album.
This will be one of the few times you will be able to get to see Birds of Tokyo in such an intimate setting as the lads have also confirmed a national tour with English symphonic rock gods, Muse. We would recommend setting some time aside in your busy schedule of sun-soaking, surfing and general amazingness that comes from being on the Gold Coast to head down and catch a genuine rock and roll experience from one of the best bands Australia has to offer right now.
