Swinging’s in vogue

Firstly, have you been to Swinging Safari on the Gold Coast? If the answer is no, listen up. Put down your phone, get up from your couch / desk and go. An unassuming banquet of hipsters awaits – ok, that just sounds creepy.

What we mean to say is, Swing Safari is an icon of Gold Coast ‘underground’ nightlife. It’s on the fringe of the glitter strip and is set to revive the simplicity and grace of the dinner dance era of the 1960’s – it’s an establishment with a difference.

Swinging Safari is set in an original Queensland beach house and opened its doors in 2003 on what was supposed to be a 3 month experiment to test an idea…Fast forward 2012 the music is supplied by DJ’s, VJ’s and some of the smoothest musicians and bands in the country.  The dinner is tapas, bbq or whatever you want….

It’s a hub for creativity, open to experimentation with all sorts of cultural pursuits; such as the Tango Club on Tuesdays, The Musicians Club on Wednesdays, Thursday is the Salon, Friday & Saturday nights are the best of original Bands, Musicians, Cabaret, Comedy, Burlesque, Dj’s, Dj/Vj…etc.
