Peace and love. A message Yoko Ono has been spreading since the ‘60s. One that will continue when the Museum of Contemporary Arts holds Yoko Ono Morning Peace 2015; a free yoga, art and flavour-filled Sunday morning for all who are keen. And not too hung over.
Yoko Ono Morning Peace 2015 is part of a worldwide gathering celebrating the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) exhibition Yoko Ono: One Woman Show, 1960–1971 and the 50th anniversary of Yoko Ono’s New York performance of Morning Piece (1964) to George Maciunas.
Whether you’re a big Yoko fan or not, this is a great opportunity to get up a decent hour on a Sunday and be involved in something creative and fun.
There’ll be yoga on the MCA rooftop and front lawn (BYO mat!), Mandala-making workshops, outdoor drawing classes and a New York style breakfast… Hang on, does that mean cronuts, bagels, Mimosas, Bloody Marys? Yes it does my friend, yes it does. Also, the MCA will be open as per usual from 9am and if you haven’t yet, you can catch Light Show, and “experience the spatial and sensory effects of light in a myriad of forms”.
This is turning into quite the Sunday.
Yoko Ono Morning Peace 2015
June 21 from 9am, entry is free.
Check the website for session times and bookings.
