Do you know how I know Summer is almost here? It’s not the longer days, nor the higher temperatures. It’s not even the fact that my skin is glowing red and holding in the heat of a thousand suns. It’s one simple little tidbit – Wine Island.

It’s back and it’s bringing you a ridiculous weekend of sun, sea, wine and food. If you’re like me and need no further encouragement, please purchase a ticket ASAP – they start at $95 and you’ll be positively swimming in decadent wines. Say no more.

For those of you that need a little further information before you toss your hard earned dollar-dollar bills (Y’ALL) around like confetti, I can give you a little bit of an overview of just how smashing this weekend is set to be.

Picture this.

November 11 -13, our precious little Clark Island will be transformed into a wine-lovers paradise. You will don your sharpest island clothes (ladies, I’m thinking Camilla, beads, floral, flowing silk…yes) and step aboard the private Wine Island guest charter that will ferry you to paradise. Sip on your complimentary glass of Rotari Brut and casually toss your locks in the harbour breeze like this ain’t no such thing. Your boat will bump lightly into the dock and you’ll descend onto The Island, the sultry aroma of good food, good people and fine wine just dripping in every intake of breath. You look around and take in the deluxe hammocks and seating spaces; the backdrop of Sydney Harbour glittering around you. From this moment you partake in the festival, sampling the glorious showcase of over 100 boutique wines from the likes of Chaffey Bros., Thomas Wines, Fox Gordon, Clyde Park, Mount Langi Ghiran, Paxton Organic Wines, Tintilla Estate and 6Ft6.

To really allow yourself to enjoy the beauty in your mouth, I thoroughly suggest mixing up the tastings with the amazing cuisine on offer which will be supplied by Banksii Vermouth Bar & Bistro, Oysters Unplugged, Chur Burger, The Hunter Valley Cheese Factory and Puntino/A.P.E.

Not that you’re going to need even more excitement, but do come prepared to compete AND learn – but not in the same space. There will be masterclasses that you can attend, learning about the nitty gritty art of wine-making and tasting. There will be treasure hunts hosted across the island for you to kick up your heels and step right into that giddy wine embrace.

Keep venturing around the island and you’ll find Dessert wines matched with the sweetest of treats, people lounging about drinking Prosecco and playing Bocce, and there will even be a silent disco.

This is that little get-away that you need when you’re working through the early days of summer – that space in time where you get to wear your best, look your best and most importantly, be your best.

Hanging on a private island (it’s legit private, spaces are super limited, which just makes it even more exciting) with beautiful people and even more beautiful wine is definitely a good look for you darling.
