Vivid Sydney, the annual festival of lights, music and complete creative chaos is only weeks away where it will run from May 22 until June 8, taking place across Sydney’s most iconic spaces and buildings.
A combination of music, installation art and presentation of ground-breaking thought, Vivid Sydney has become an internationally renowned event that draws some of the biggest names to Australia.
This year, the line-up is particularly stellar. From Daniel Johns, Sufjan Stevens, performing at the Sydney Opera House, the Modulations events at Carriageworks and the amazing Silent Disco at Central Park – there is something on every night to keep your feet shuffling.
On the more mentally stimulating spectrum, you can catch Tyler Brule talking success in creative branding and Matthew Weiner, creator of Mad Men talking storytelling and scripts; the Sydney Film Festival; and Semi-Permanent, the celebration of art, design and photography.
Then there are the lights – the heart and soul of the Vivid Festival. Starting at the Sydney Opera House and ending at Walsh Bay, the Vivid Light Walk is a record breaking light show that takes place throughout Circular Quay; Darling Harbour will house the Vivid LASER-Fountain Water Theatre, a spectacular liquid light show; and Transcendence in Martin Place, a new media projection and mapping installation piece by Joseph Crossley.
One of the most amazing festivals Sydney has to offer, Vivid is as entertaining as it is enlightening as it is educational.
