The 80s weren’t all fluro and high-waisted denim. There were a lot of feels there too and they mostly took form in the former lead singer for The Smiths, Morrissey. Who just so happens to be performing at the Sydney Opera House across four nights as part of Sydney’s Vivid LIVE, starting May 26 until May 31.
Outspoken and opinionated, Morrissey remains a captivating figure in pop culture. His raw talent combined with overwhelming charisma has carried him from the front of 80s boy-band The Smiths to an independent artist in his own right.
Morrisey has continued to create across multiple mediums, becoming somewhat of a prolific writer (one of his original passions) to the delight of his massive devoted following with the instant Penguin Classic Autobiography.
In 2014, Morrissey released his  critically acclaimed 10th album World Peace Is None of Your Business, where he reinvokes the romantic narratives that he grew up in during ’80s era Manchester through to current day on a global level and expresses the profound loneliness inherent to the human condition.
Following an epic performance at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony that made headlines globally, the subsequent release of World Peace Is None of Your Business proved to be a masterpiece that resonated worldwide with fans and critics alike. Likewise, his #1 bestseller Autobiography remained in Penguin Books’ top ten best sellers list through the whole of 2014.
Not one to do anything by halves, the naming of Morrissey as the final act for Vivid LIVE 2015 is a masterstroke that will have people talking for years.
Morrissey will be performing at the Sydney Opera House for four nights from May 26 until May 31.
