The Art of Sleeping At the Oxford Art Factory

May 25, 2015  ·  2 min read

By Benjamen Judd

Hot on the heels of their hugely successful “Crazy” tour in January this year, and to celebrate the release of their latest single “Voodoo”, Australian rock group The Art of Sleeping are returning to Sydney where they’ll be burning up the stage at the Oxford Art Factory on June 6.

Originally from Brisbane, The Art of Sleeping are like a cross between the Temper Trap and Boy and Bear, combining the warm familiarity of one with the energetic charisma of the other.

Known for their immersive live performances as much for their seductive sounds, “Voodoo” will be The Art of Sleeping’s biggest national tour to date across 6 states.

Already a hit on the radio waves, Voodoo is receiving acclaim from critics and fans alike as an instant summer anthem.

“Capturing the band’s expansive arrangements and intoxicating lyricism Art of Sleeping’s latest single ‘Voodoo’ is a superstitious anthem that sets a sensual soundtrack of unreciprocated heartbreak. Drums rattle, guitar’s soar and an imaginary wind howls as the song recounts a painful, wild love affair.”

Joining them are Adelaide’s singer-songwriter Jesse Davidson and Melbourne’s dream-pop multi-instrumentalist Sunbeam Sound Machine.

The Art of Sleeping will perform at the Oxford Art Factory on June 6.
