spaQBy Ben Stephens.
Recently, I have spent a little time across the harbour anchorages around Sydney and after some deep research, something is clear… it’s becoming a little slice of the Monaco Harbour out there and these boats are looking fine. Damn fine. From a floating dance floor and flavour house on board Seadeck to the traditional feeling of the Sydney Show Boat Paddlewheeler, there are boats to meet one’s needs.
However, I also want to throw your focus over to the ridiculous luxury of the super yachts that are in the harbour and ready for your chartering needs. These boats do come with a hefty price tag and charging per hour surely makes the dollars rain over the well chamois’d top sides, though imagine all the fun you and your chosen few could enjoy… I’M ON A BOAT.
Oscar II
Starting with a personal favourite, the crew on Oscar II are what separates them from the rest. Chef John Rankin is on hand to create some delicious meals or really anything you desire. Oscar II sits at a comfortable 105ft in length and can equally accommodate 64 guests in a party vibe or 40 of your closest friends for a sit down dinner, when you want to get fancy.
Tango
With enough space for 49 guests, Tango comes in as one of the most expensive yachts to charter on the Sydney waters. The 121ft motor yacht will have you and your entourage cursing the waters with little care for anyone else. There is so much deck space on board to work on that Euro tan or just celebrate the good times.
Masketa 2
This little (122ft) craft, is a stunning piece of maritime architecture. Spread over three decks, with the middle level playing home to a large outdoor spa, Masketa 2 is turning up the luxury vibes to 11. Being able look after 80 of your mates for the cocktail party of the decade or just hire it out for a little Netflix and chill, because it has been a busy week and you deserve it.
Finally, as Mark Twain once said, “twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Is that a metaphor? Who cares. Just get out on the water now, before winter really sets in.
May your winds be fair.
