The Sydney Writer’s Festival is only days away, beginning on May 18 and wrapping up on May 24, and it will be turning Sydney into a hub of literary bliss.
A nexus of ideas, creativity, discussion and all things wordy the Sydney Writer’s Festival has been a highlight on the literary scene since it first began in 1997.
A mix of free and ticketed events, the Sydney Writer’s Festival entices some of the biggest names in the global literary scene to come and talk about their work, their motivations and also to help inspire would be writers of all genres to find their own voice.
While the majority events are held across the Walsh Bay precinct and Circular Quay, the festival has grown so large that it now holds sessions in Parramatta, Ashfield, Auburn, Blacktown, Bankstown, Hornsby, Penrith, the Blue Mountains and Wollongong.
For 2015, the team at the Sydney Writer’s Festival have pulled in some truly fantastic artists including Hugh Mackay, David Malouf, Helen Garner and Ben Okri who will be speaking about the work of a writer.
