spaQBy Ben Stephens.
Lewis Carroll once wrote something about how beautiful snow falling from the sky is. He went on to imagine the snow wishing the leaves and trees a sweet goodnight as the first dumping of the season began to fall. Now, was L.C. under the influence of some particularly strong opium when he penned his sweet thoughts? Perhaps. Nevertheless, they still ring somewhat true (at least to me) today.
As the snow brews in Australia’s alpine regions, are leaves and trees still being wished goodnight? Instead overthinking this one, we should all just plan our trips out to the fields now to avoid that mid winter FOMO. The snow is still a while off, we need a major dump before the season is really underway, but thankfully Sydney’s annual Winter Festival is about to kick off, bringing with it every you need to get into the winter spirit, including mulled wine.
We enjoy festivals that encourage drinking in a public area and ice-skating with or without the aid of a penguin. If you haven’t sipped a bevvy after skating on the forecourt of St. Marys Cathedral, you should. It’s epic.
