Sydney Tea Festival at Carriageworks

Aug 15, 2017  ·  2 min read

Coffee seems to be the perpetual drink de jour that gets all the attention, but tea-totallers finally have a reason to celebrate their favourite drink this weekend at the Sydney Tea Festival. Showcased in all its glory, everyone’s favourite herbal infusions will be on display at Carriageworks on Sunday, August 20 in an exciting market-style setting.

Sure to be the best tea-party in town, visitors will have the chance to sample new herbal blends, learn how to make their own concoctions and hear how tea can benefit the soul and nourish the insides.

Featuring purveyors from Sydney and beyond, some of the blenders who will be exhibiting include Bodhi Organic Tea, Endeavour Tea, Ruby Chai, the Husk Mill Australian Cacao Teas and Tisanes, Silvertip Specialty Teas and more. You’ll sample everything from single origin and organic to rare teas, including herbal blends, chocolate, chai and ice teas.

Budding tea enthusiasts will also have the chance to delve further into their tea knowledge and practise with a host of talks and workshops being offered throughout the day. Ever wondered the difference between white, green, oolong or black tea? Be sure to grab a seat at the Tea Essentials workshop to scrub up on your basics; or, for a hands-on master class, try Discovering Kombucha where you will explore and discover this healthy and delicious probiotic drink made from fermented tea.

To ensure each guest makes the most of their day, everyone will receive a signature porcelain cup upon entry so you can taste your way through all the blends as you peruse the market.

Complementing fare will also be dished out by a range of food stalls offering both savoury and sweet treats. Keep your eyes peeled for Agape Organic Food Truck, Nutie Donuts, Tsuro Food Truck and more.

Sydney tea festival is on this Sunday, August 20.
