spaQBy Ben Stephens.
Bagged or loose leaf, white, green, oolong or black, hot or iced, there is nothing quite like a cuppa tea. There’s often a hit of caffeine at a respectable level, a pick-me-up that doesn’t give you the shakes, but can still pack the antioxidants in. According to statistics that are easily obtainable from trusted online sources (sadly not backed up with any attribution), Australians downed a whopping 7.7 billion cups of tea last year… that is a crazy amount of leaves in boiling water.
We clearly love tea, which is probably why Carriageworks is about to turn into a tea nirvana, brewing Sydney Tea Festival 2016.
The festival will play home to over 80 stall holders that will be exhibiting their best leaves, techniques and hot knowledge of all things tea. From premium producers to boutique and niche brands, the festival will produce a day that will no doubt leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
