For the second time EVER, Sydney is hosting a serious, high-end art fair. Sydney Contemporary returns to Carriageworks after a year-long sabbatical and aims to top 2013’s inaugural edition. Which mind you, was no slouch, attracting over 28,000 collectors, industry experts and hoards of the art-loving public.
Australasia’s international art fair will offer more than 70 galleries from 11 countries, including Australia, China, Japan, Singapore, UK, USA, Chile, and New Zealand. Just like the city, Sydney Contemporary is a multicultural beast.
Besides the general art gazing and art chinwaggery that will take place throughout the Fair’s galleries, Sydney Contemporary boasts five days of public programs for those wanting to know more about buying and living with art. This will include guided tours, guest speakers and educational workshops for novices and experts alike.
“Sydney Contemporary has secured itself as a must-see contemporary art event on the contemporary art event on the global art calendar, offering a point of difference in its focus on the Asia-Pacific region, and the wider Pacific Rim.” – Tim Etchells, founder of Sydney Contemporary
