Coming up on the weekend of November 26 – 27 at Carriageworks is a Not For Profit organisation and event running under the name Rootstock. Put simply: it’s a natural festival, with an aim to promote sustainable farming in food and wine production.
Returning for its fourth year with us here in Sydney, it has quickly surpassed most food and wine festivals to be one of the most anticipated of the year. With talks happening over both the Saturday and Sunday with notable producers, chefs, educators, writers, sommeliers and more.
You can take the opportunity to drink amazing wine, try incredible food AND be educated on how to better our world. You can purchase tickets HERE
Waltz on in for the free-to-attend food & bars, which include Feather & Bone + Slow Food Sydney taking on the Bull Boar Sausage stand; slow cooking over coals and serving some serious snacks.
Enrico Sgarbossa will be headlining in the Rootstock Sydney Pizzeria with nothing but native ingredients, there will be cheeses, there will be oysters and there will even be some charcoal veggies to throw into the mix – catering for everyone!
Along with the food will be the different bars, all showcasing natural and environmentally friendly alcohol from the Saké Bar to the Wild Fermented & Craft Beers, giving you that peachy-keen buzz with none of the preservatives.
Let these guilt-free servings carry you on into the night parties, with both nights free to attend – On the Saturday you can kick on with the Georgian Party, reflecting the deep culture of Georgia – the oldest wine region in the world, with Chef Renee Trudeau, just back from travelling through this far-flung country
Then on the Sunday you can cap off the stellar weekend with the Rootstock Sydney X Italo Disco, a celebration of Australian produce over/under coals, with celebrated chefs from some of the best restaurants in Sydney.
Throw your hand in and give a cheer for the farmers, the artists, the curators, the producers, and most importantly, the consumers of environmentally friendly products.
Rootstock is on at Carriageworks from November 26 – 27.
