The 2019 delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards VIP event was hosted by delicious. senior editor Matt Preston, and guests were treated to a bespoke menu created by the joint culinary excellence of five of QT Hotel’s renowned executive chefs. The majestic Sydney State Theatre played host to this elaborate event, showcasing the future of local-Australian produce and national food excellence in one of Australia’s most treasured venues. The spectacle revealed the importance of sourcing local produce to deliver consumers food that not only tastes sensational but also provides added health benefits.

In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, the menu was designed and curated by QT Sydney executive chef, Michael Box, and inspired by 2019 winners’ and gold medallists’ produce. The Dairy station was prepared by QT Melbourne’s Andy Harmer, Earth prepared by QT Perth’s Nic Wood, Paddock prepared by QT Canberra’s Josh Smith-Thirkell and Sea prepared by QT Gold Coast’s Adam Lane. Guests were treated to the finest wines sourced by Qantas Wine and delighted with sophisticated concoctions created by Four Pillars cocktails. National Judges and VIP guests were later ushered next-door to QT Sydney to rest their bellies and prepare for the breakfast offerings at Gowings Bar & Grill the next day, obviously.

QT Hotels director of culinary Adam Petta said “Big businesses have a responsibility to lead by example, to show the average person that if companies that feed millions per year can source locally, so can they.”

All QT locations boast rooftop gardens and beehives to ensure that guests are treated to fresh, organic and healthy produce, as sustainability and provenance is embedded into QT culture.
