Upgrades. They’re a wonderful thing.
They can turn your QT King into a QT Executive King room, doubling the size and changing the layout drastically. Sometimes an upgrade can take the QT Deluxe that you booked and turn that into a QT State Suite, a room that usually sits at $1k+ per night.
They’re a funny thing, upgrades.
There’s no sure-fire way to locking one in as they come and go due to a whole range of reasons.
Though saying that, here are five hacks to get you closer to an upgrade on your next stay with QT:
Special Occasion
Let the social, front desk, restaurant and/or reservations team know that you’re celebrating a special thing. The more the merrier because ultimately, we love to celebrate your special things with you. You do need to let us know though, we stopped stalking your Facebook a long time ago, so we don’t know about your friend-anniversary ?Start a Band
Get ridiculously successful and employ a manager that knows what’s good. When you check in, not only will you bypass the whole reception desk, we’ll have you upgraded as per your manager’s request and your awesomely stacked rider of green M&M’s will be waiting for you on check in.Be The Guest You Would Want To Serve
You could try the old time classic of just being a really rad guest. Throw a little joke in and we’ll play back with you. Tell us about your day, feel free to offload, let us know if there is anything that’s bothering you. If we can help out in any way, we will. An upgrade after a shitty day can be a perfect cure.Lie
You wouldn’t believe it, but sometimes our own guests lie to us to try and score an upgrade. Though we might reward a lie that is so outlandish, that we can’t ignore the work you’ve put into it. Like if you were to hire a Porsche for the weekend, just to impress the valet team. Or that weak Euro accent you’ve adopted while trying to convince us that you’re a pretty big deal in Japan. You’ll get points for creativity at least and an upgrade to the State Suite at the most.Join Priority Guest Rewards
A plug for our loyalty programme, though this one does work.
More likely than not, if we see that you’ve stayed with us before and you’re a member of our loyalty programme, we’ll throw amenities and upgrades at you. It’s like a confirmation of being best friends… and we’ll throw you a free drink at the bar.Just to reiterate… there is no guaranteed way to secure an upgrade.
It’s one of those things that if available, we’ll throw them around like Willy Wonka does his candy when Charlie comes to visit.
See you soon Charlie.
