You know that feeling you get when you’re 45 minutes deep into Planet Earth and Sir David Attenborough’s voice is just chipping away at your emotions.
Animal by animal. Shot by shot.
Now you’re human as much as I am so I’m sure we both feel the exact same way when it comes to the penguin world.
The build of these flightless birds, the way they live just the way they are so comfortable in their skin (feathers); there’s something so darn special about these little creatures.
I would eagerly book a flight with you to the southern continent of Antarctica today if you could guarantee me a trip to the see a bunch of Emperor Penguins. Throw in a chance to see the southern lights and I’ll even pay for your flights.
Sadly flights are ridiculous, accommodation is overbooked and the southern lights won’t be firing for another month of so.
This being the case, the need to check out some fine feather friends is high.
Thankfully, the rad team at SeaLife, Sydney’s inner city zoo, has just unwrapped their newest exhibition, simply entitled Penguin Expedition.
It is a world-first type of immersive experience and really cool.
It’s set at about 6 degree Celsius in fact.
You get to take a seat in a boat and journey into the penguin enclosure where you can get face-to-flipper with a colony of King and Gentoo Penguins!
Yes, it’s kind of angled to a younger market, but how can any adult say no to an experience as immersive as this.
The best thing about the whole thing is that it’s included in admission and you can take the journey as many times as you like.
INCREDIBLE.
So if you’re like me, a human and enjoy penguins like nothing else, next time you’re in Sydney this is a must. Book HERE.
