Imagine all the fun of the ARIA’s – the lights, the atmosphere, the music, the stars – now imagine its cost you absolutely nothing. You’re sprawled out across the beautiful Domain Park atop your freshly purchased Turkish towel under the mesmerising blanket of Sydney’s night sky: you’ve just begun to envision the fun you’d have at the annual Opera In The Domain.

Seriously, what better way to enjoy the weekend than by spending a gorgeous summer’s evening being transported to another place through the magical symphony of the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.

Stock up on supplies and pack a monster picnic as you ride the wave with thousands of other lucky, avid listeners. May I suggest a healthy combination of cheese and wine as you class up your otherwise average Saturday night. Ran out of food, but still hungry for more? No worries, the event will be surrounded by various food and drink stalls to make sure you’re never short of a tasty feed.

Now onto the good part! The music. Described as “a reimagination of the power of the human voice”, the event will sure to be a feast for both the eyes and the ears. Close your eyes, lie back and find solace in the soulful and awe-inspiring crescendo of the full Orchestra as they dare you to follow them on their incredible journey with each unique note. Conducted masterfully by the ever talented Anthony Legge, you’ll be in safe hands from start to finish.

Dress up, don’t dress up. Date, no date. The choice is entirely yours. That’s the beauty of Opera In The Domain: it’s a chance to relax and soak up one of Australia’s most beloved open air events, featuring a collaboration of some of the best local and international Opera stars around the world.
