Well, it’s that wonderful time of year again! We are approaching October. Ahh, what a glorious month! To some, it may just seem like just another four weeks of the year (where has the time gone, jeeez?!), but to the local Sydney-sider foodie like myself, it means one very important thing – the Night Noodle Markets are back in town!
Who doesn’t love the Asian cuisine? Stalls everywhere you turn wait to entice the famished traveller. Like stepping into the food court of the Easter Show, a variety of sweet and savoury foods will ensure that you leave the park with a big smile on your face.
Here are a couple of things you’d be crazy to miss out on:
Hoy Pinoy
Filipino food isn’t normally the first culinary decision when it comes to dinner-time, but hot damn, these guys make a mean pork belly skewer! Combining influences from Spanish, Japanese and Chinese cuisines, they really know how to get your tastebuds tingling. Marinated in traditional banana ketchup glaze, it’s no wonder the queue trails out of the park once the stall opens. Pro-tip: Try their skewers on steamed rice with atchara (pickled green papaya) for a good wholesome feed.
