So, summer is almost here. But I’d say given the spat of ridiculously great days we’ve been having lately, we can forgive it its late arrival. For movie lovers like myself, this can be a good and bad thing. Convincing the other half to catch the latest flick can be a hard-sell when the lure of a warm night under the stars is the overwhelming reason to stay outside.

Movie buffs, worry not! For I give to you the resounding answer to the age-old “but it’s so nice outside, maybe another time” concern – outdoor movies presented by the Moonlight Cinema.

It’s not often such an ingenious idea concept comes to our city of dreams. In fact, it’s been about 365 days since the last one so make the most of this glorious experience while you have the chance. Just imagine; rolling up to check out the latest blockbuster whilst chilling on a custom bean bag under the warm, welcoming comfort of a setting sun. Hells to the yeah!

Choice is always the enemy when hitting up the flicks. “I like that one, but this one sounds good too – and it finishes earlier” – sound familiar? Well, at Moonlight Cinema, there is only one screening a night! Get in there early and hunt out the best spot.

Located at Belvedere Amphitheatre, Centennial Park, this year’s line-up of flicks is all time. Kicking things off on December 1 with Sully, the true story of Capt. Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger managing to land a commercial airliner on the Hudson. A bit too heavy? Check out the musical by Hollywood sweethearts Gosling/Stone in La La Land, quite the show. QT Life favourite would have to be Bad Santa 2 – catch that on December 21.

Bring your family, mates, even your dog! Tickets are very reasonably priced with an adult entry only setting you back $19 (less than the standard cost of the movies).

For the big spenders out there, Moonlight also offers up a Gold Grass ticket which grants access to a premium sectioned off area where you not only have the best seats in the house park, but get to relax in your own bean- bed and receive VIP treatment throughout the movie – Gold Class on the grass – oh wait, I get it!
