Monocle to Launch A Sydney Pop-Up Store

May 17, 2015  ·  2 min read

By Benjamen Judd

We hope you haven’t wasted your precious pennies on anything as superfluous as rent and food this year because Monocle – our favourite magazine on international style and taste – has confirmed its first pop up store in Sydney from May 24 until June 21.

Launching at our go-to boutique for fashion and fine goods, The Stables (located on Bourke Street in Surry Hills) the Monocle Pop-Up store will be your chance to make some serious updates to your wardrobe and homewares.

The whole event is beautifully timed to coincide with the appearance of Tyler Brule – founder of the Monocle brand – at Vivid Sydney, where he will be presenting as part of the Vivid Ideas Game Changers series, along with many other leaders in global creative industries.

Originally launched as a global affairs and lifestyle magazine for those who see no separation between good taste and political awareness, Monocle quickly became a brand in and of itself, collaborating with the likes of Commes des Garcon and spinning off into the world of radio, retail and even coffee.

With stores in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Toronto, Singapore and New York the Monocle brand sells all the must-have products that are as thought provoking as they are aesthetically pleasing.

The Sydney Monocle Pop-Up Store will open at The Stables, 352 Bourke Street Surry Hills, from May 24 until June 21.
