When a friend’s birthday comes around, you have choices. You can bury your head in the sand and pretend that you never saw that notification. You can write on their wall, add a photo to your post as it can bring in a couple bonus points. Send them a hilarious Snapchat about how rad they are. Or click attend on their Facebook invitation and be sure to be the first and last person at the party, helping them celebrate their revolutions around the sun and your ongoing friendship.
As the Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney is about to turn a quarter of a century, we here at QT Sydney couldn’t be more stoked to celebrate the milestone. Being at the forefront of the contemporary art scene in Australia, the museum has delivered some absolute top-notch exhibitions over its lifetime. Remember that Chuck Close exhibition from a couple of years ago, the annual awesome that Primavera is and of course the MCA ARTBAR on the rooftop. The MCA is such an entrenched part of the Sydney lifestyle. From Vivid to NYE, it’s always there, being all contemporary and what not.
Over the weekend of November 11 – 13, the MCA is welcoming everyone to drop by and join in the celebrations. With a whole host of free and ticketed events, you’ll be able to meet the guides, go behind the scenes with an MCA architect and sit in on a debate on where the museum is going.
So if you’re in the mood to wish the MCA a big happy birthday, don’t just post a three-word message on their wall, get down to Circular Quay and really show the love it deserves.
