If you’re keen to get in your mother’s good books or, like us, you just happen to straight up like 70s pop disco, then don’t forget to get your tickets to Leo Sayer who will perform at the Seymour Centre on April 9.
Most of us admit to having that one aunt who, after a few sauvignon blancs, busts out her best White Wine Shuffle to You Make Me Feel Like Dancing at family gatherings. But what most probably won’t fess up to is that…we (and we mean you) love him too.
With a career that spans over four decades, 80 million album sales and a frizzy perm that seems to stand the test of time and good taste, Leo Sayer is a true music icon. His blend of disco, pop and rock a timeless combination that, even now, get’s even the heaviest of heels moving in the aisles.
A talented songwriter in his own right, Sayer has also written hit tracks for fellow artists such as Tina Turner, Cliff Richard, Roger Daltrey, and Dolly Parton.
His first tour in four years coincides with the release of his latest studio album, Restless Years, which was released earlier this year in January. This show will feature his new Australian band performing songs from the new album together with the hits you’d expect such as Long Tall Glasses, You Make Me Feel Like Dancing, When I Need You and More Than I Can Say.
Leo Sayer will perform at the Seymour Centre on April 9.
