If there was any real sign needed that the 90s have well and truly returned, then this would be it. UK electronica trip hop masters, Lamb, are returning to Australia for an exclusive five show performance that includes one night only at the Enmore Theatre on February 12.
Since their early days playing the Manchester (and Bristol) club scenes, Lamb (Andy Barlow and Lou Rhodes) have made a name for them selves through their distinct blending of sounds. These have ranged from their native trip hop through to jazz, dub, and even drum and bass while maintaining a strong vocal (performed predominantly by Rhodes).
Achieving commercial success with their tracks Gold, Gabriel and Gorecki (which, incidentally, was released as an afterthought and stands as their most famous recording to date and an anthem to the electronic music scene), the group have continued to experiment with blending music from various genres.
After more than five years away (their last Australian performance was at the dearly missed NYE event, Playground Weekender) the band has announced a slew of international performances to celebrate the release of their latest studio album, Backspace Unwind.
Already garnering critical acclaim, Backspace Unwind is testament to the creativity of Barlow and Rhodes and their ability to continually break boundaries with music. Have a look at their mini-documentary filmed during their tour of the UK last year here.
Lamb will perform at the Enmore Theatre on February 12.
