Handa Opera On Sydney Harbour Presents Aida

An experience like no other in a harbour like no other, Opera Australia and Handa Opera On Sydney Harbour presents Aida at Mrs Macquarie’s Point from until April 26.

Among Sydney’s myriad facets of international appeal, two in particular stand out amongst locals and travellers alike – The Sydney Opera House and the crown it rests on, Sydney Harbour.

Handa Opera On Sydney Harbour gives you the chance to experience both in their breathtaking presentation of Verdi’s Aida – the tale of an enslaved Ethiopian princess and the Egyptian military commander who is torn between his love for her and his loyalty to the Pharaoh.

Directed by Gale Edwards and accompanied by a stunning set and costume design by Mark Thompson that includes a giant floating head of Queen Nefertiti, Aida might be Handa Opera On the Harbour’s biggest and most ambitious venture yet.
