The father of disco, Giorgio Moroder, who is currently touring Australia with the glitter princess herself, Kylie Minogue, has confirmed a special one-night only show at the Metro Theatre this Thursday, March 26.
While the more greener generations of music fans might know Moroder more for his recent collaborations with French electro duo Daft Punk, the Academy Award winning producer is in fact responsible for some of the biggest hits in pop music to date.
Not only did he bring electronic music into the mainstream with his collaborations with Donna Summer on the hits “Love To Love you Baby” and “I Feel Love” but Moroder also masterminded some of the greatest cinematic musical scores in history. “The Never Ending Story”, “Superman 3”, “American Gigilo” and “Scarface” are just the top of a long list of Moroder’s back catalogue.
Moroder’s tour with La Minogue and his own solo performances come hot on the heels of the announcement of Moroder’s first studio album in 30 years.
Dubbed “74 Is The New 24”, this latest release from the master of disco will feature collaborations with Kylie (of course), Sia, Britney Spears, Mikky Ekko and a slew of other contemporary artists. The album’s title track and first single “74 Is The New 24”is already out now and promises big things to come.
Giorgio Moroder will perform at the Metro Theatre on Thursday, March 26.
