Yes, you heard correctly, Sydney is getting an Espresso Martini Festival! Following the success of the world’s first espresso martini festival in Melbourne last year, the legends behind one of our favourite drinks, Mr Black, are bringing the event to Sydney’s iconic Overseas Passenger Terminal, kicking off on Friday 26 May for two days.

It’ll be like the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory for Espresso Martini’s… minus the Oompa Loompas, we presume.

The festival will be a place for the city’s discerning booze and coffee lovers (which is pretty much everyone, right?) to taste, talk and sample caffeinated tipple creations from some of Australia’s best speciality coffee roasters, bars and coffee shops.There will also be espresso martini and cold brew master- classes and free Mr Black tastings.

When you think about, when you really get down to the nitty-gritty; the Espresso Martini is the perfect drink. The caffeine rush isn’t as rough as a Redbull high and will keep you going in a comfortable fashion. While the classic makeup of the martini makes it look like you know what’s good in life, which you do.

Australia’s favourite food and drink vendors will be there too, with those madmen from Mary’s who will be flipping those delicious burgers; the sustainable and ethical humans from Loving Earth Chocolate and if you’re not into those coffee infused martini’s, the hopped up team from Young Henrys will be on hand slinging that inner-west beer that we know and love.

Tickets will be sold for session times, each session being a 3-hour slot packed full of boozy, foodie, coffee goodness. Get down, drink, eat, taste, listen and enjoy the view. Coffee lovers, this one’s for you.
