Ever wonder what exactly the 1 per cent have in their private art collections? Now, you can with Collector’s Space showing at Ray Hughes Gallery until March 29 as part of Art Month.
As part of Sydney’s annual Art Month, voyeurs, investors and vanguards can get a sneak peak at some of the best private collections in Australia. Just some of the names include celebrity Chef Kylie Kwong, artist Nell, media mastermind Sue Cato and artist Noel McKenna.
The show will include a variety of personal stories, anecdotes and vignettes of emotional attachment to the works that explain both the reason and the rhyme of how art can speak to the observer.
It’s also an opportunity for potential investors to take some tips from the experts. In addition to Collector’s Space, there will be several Buy Art tours that will take art buffs who fancy themselves the next Hélène and Bernard Arnault on behind-the-scenes viewings in commercial galleries that can provide key pointers on how to get your own private Louvre happening.
Collectors Space is taking place at Ray Hughes Gallery as part of Art Month until March 29.
For more information, including tour times and the names of artists taking part in Collector’s Space, head to the Art Month website here.
