The smell of coffee beans being sent through a grinder to come out the other side as a course dust excites the senses like nothing else. It signals the beginning of the morning or a well-timed mid-afternoon break.
When it comes to the looking for a fine drop around the harbour city of Sydney, you’re flooded with choice.
To help you navigate to your morning cup of Joe, here is just a handful of tried and tested coffee spots around the Market and King Street haunts that will deliver you not just a brilliant coffee but serve you in an aesthetically pleasing environment:
Single O CBD
Go for the selected single origin coffee, they do that damn well; stay for the bacon and egg roll. The thing ranks high on the delicious scale. The team have recreated the vibe from their Surry Hills hotspot, bringing that same service that you know and love. Only half a block away from the front door of QT Sydney, so if you have a meeting on York Street, this place comes highly recommended.Sometimes it's nice to hit pause, and just watch the world go by.

Parlour Lane 2
You already know of Parlour Lane; the café come wine bar that takes up the ground floor lobby space of QT Sydney. Parlour Lane 2 is located on the George Street end of Parlour Laneway and packs everything that is good about the original into a tiny space. The toasties are on point, the coffee is Allpress and the service is what keeps you coming back.Jardin St. James
This place is located in the courtyard of Sydney’s oldest church, St. James. Staffed by an awesome team of dedicated French nationals that know their stuff when it comes to good coffee. The food is also on point, as it would be. Take a seat inside the courtyard or use Jardin as a pit stop on way to you Mac Street meetings.https://www.instagram.com/p/BQlnsf-DiSQ/?taken-by=jardinstjames
Skittle Lane
A minimalist’s dream, Skittle Lane is located on King Street, between Kent and York, a short walk from the doors of QT Sydney. Skittle roast their own beans off site and play around with a range of single origin beans, giving each roast a unique flavour set. If you’re a fan of filter coffee, this is your jam. If you’re a fan of stupidly good design, highlight this one twice.Mecca
If you need a place to grab a table for a 15-minute catch-up, Mecca is your place. This place is best for an espresso; the team behind the counter know what’s best for you. So team that espresso up with a side of sparkling water and a little pastry treat and you’ll be fine step to take on the day.Freezing Friday breakfast catch ups with @wandergurl at Sydney's best coffee. @meccacoffee
